Formation of the Judicial Commission proposed in the 18th Amendment for the appointment of judges has been challenged in the Supreme Court (SC) on Saturday, Dunya News reported. Senior Advocate Akram Sheikh filed the petition on behalf of Advocate Nadeem. It is maintained in the plea that the Constitution gives guarantee of freedom of judiciary but the formation of judicial commission and the parliamentary committee for the appointment of judges directly clashes with basic structure of the Constitution.
