Governor Sindh has also approved the Local Bodies Amendment Bill 2014.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Governor Sindh Dr. Ishratul Ibad accepted the resignations of ministers of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Tuesday.

After parting ways with Sindh Government, cabinet ministers sent their resignations to governor Sindh whereas advisors and special associate dispatched their resignations to chief minister Sindh Qaim Ali Shah.

Governor Sindh accepted the resignations of two MQM ministers namely Minister for Industry and Commerce Rauf Siddiqui and Minster for Health Dr. Sagheer Ahmad.

Prior to this, CM Sindh had already accepted the resignations of advisors viz. Faisal Sabzwari, Adil Siddiqui and special assistant Abdul Haseeb Khan.

Governor Sindh has also approved the Local Bodies Amendment Bill 2014. According to the ordinance, the authority of delimitation of constituencies is now vested with the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

Sindh Assembly had approved the bill on October 15.

Earlier, MQM announced to part ways with the government. The Raabta Committee said that MQM will now take their rights and identity along with the new province, adding that there will be no compromise after their chief Altaf Hussain was criticized.

According to the details, MQM made the announcement after holding a joint session between its Raabta Committees of London and Karachi.

MQM announced not to remain part of the Sindh government anymore.

Addressing the media in Karachi, MQM leader Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said that first Opposition Leader in National Assembly Khursheed Shah of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) termed the word ‘Muhajir’ as abusive and then PPP chairman made the ‘provoking’ speech against the MQM.

“There’s no reason left for us to work together with PPP”, he said.

He said it has come to the point that supporting PPP now means weakening Pakistan.

Siddiqui said that they will now take their rights, identity and a new province. He said the consequence of abusing ‘Muhajir’ is creation of a new province.

He said MQM will never surrender the demand of creation of a new province.

MQM leader said that Bilawal Bhutto Zardari could not make life difficult for the murderers of his mother Benazir Bhutto, his uncle Murtaza Bhutto.

He said that the heir of a Bhutto can only be a Bhutto and not a Zardari.

During the press conference, Raabta Committee members also chanted ‘go Zardari go’ and ‘go Bilawal go’ slogans.

Later, Farooq Sattar during a press conference in Karachi said that MQM has lost its patience with PPP because their system of governance has always been dictatorial. He said that MQM has decided to part ways with the PPP-led Azad Kashmir government.

Out of 49 members of Azad Kashmir assembly, 12 are from PMLN, 5 from Muslim Conference, 29 belong to PPP whereas only 2 members are from MQM.

Even with the opposition parties, MQM can’t topple PPP’s government in Azad Kashmir. Support of 25 members is required to plunge the government in AJK.

MQM currently has two members in AJK. Salim Butt is the Minister for Youth Affairs and Tahir Khokhar was Transport Minister in AJK government.

Criticizing Bilawal Bhutto’s recent speech, Farooq Sattar contended that Bilawal has used harsh words for Altaf Hussain. He added that the young chairman of PPP failed to show respect towards much older leaders.

He claimed that PPP has been unable to control the law and order situation in Karachi and continued to violate human rights during its seven years of rule in Sindh. He said that MQM is not willing to become partner in crime with PPP. He also criticized PPP for disregarding the constitution every time but said that MQM has been supporting the party only for the sake of democracy.
