LAHORE (Dunya News) – A resident of Lahore Muhammad Amin filed a petition against the slogan ‘Go Nawaz Go’ in the Lahore High Court on Saturday.

Amin says the slogan is causing chaos in the country so it must be shunned.

Inspector General (IG) Punjab, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), provincial and the federal government have been made party to the case.

Earlier, the frenzied supporters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) currently staging a protest in Islamabad to topple Nawaz Sharif’s government, have popularized the GoNawazGo slogan. The slogan has been making headlines in the past few weeks after several incidents of it being used against the PMLN leadership.

Also, at a Women Youth Convention event at Al-Hamra Arts Council in Lahore, enthusiastic PTI supporters chanted GoNawazGo slogans in the presence of Ahsan Iqbal. The Federal Minister for Planning and Development, Ahsan Iqbal responded by saying that chanting slogans would not change anything.

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Pervaiz Rasheed was welcomed with ‘Go Nawaz Go’ chants upon arrival in Lahore. “You called me for media talk and then also invited [Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)] workers?” Pervaiz Rasheed complained to the media personnel.
