Summary Imran Khan stays firm at demanding Nawaz Sharif's resignation.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Addressing the participants of the sit-in in front of the parliament house in Islamabad, Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) said that the government’s claim that PTI had requested army to mediate is nothing but a blatant lie.
He further said that by misstating, Nawaz Sharif is not only refuting him but offending General Raheel Sharif.
Imran Khan stated that he made it clear to the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel that he does not trust Nawaz Sharif. We trust General Raheel but we believe that transparent verification of the process cannot be ensured unless Nawaz Sharif sticks to his seat.
“I made it clear to General Raheel that nothing less than Nawaz Sharif’s resignation is acceptable”, said chairman PTI.
Nawaz Sharif was directly involved in the electoral rigging. In any major democracy the responsible minister resigns as long as the trail against him continues, he added.
Khan said, that the government is blocking whole of Islamabad and halting people’s participation.
