SC summons Imran Khan, Tahirul Qadri

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The Supreme Court has summoned PTI chairman Imran Khan and PAT chief Tahirul Qadri tomorrow.

A four-member bench headed by Chief Justice Nasirul Mulk heard the petition seeking the intervention of court to stop any extra-constitutional steps in current political upheaval on Wednesday.

After hearing the arguments, the court remarked that the ongoing sit-ins were affecting the basic rights of individuals.

The court also said that all the ways to oust the government other than the one mentioned in the constitution will result into anarchy and violence.

Referring to the sit-in of PTI and PAT, Justice Nasirul Mulk said that the judges took a long route to reach Supreme Court building.

Justice Saqib Nisar said that the basic rights of individuals were violated under Article 15 and 16 of the constitution.

Serving notices to Tahirul Qadri and Imran khan, the bench adjourned the hearing till tomorrow.
