Summary Ahsan Iqbal says that a few thousands cant steal away the mandate of millions.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News)—Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has said on Tuesday that a few thousands can’t steal the mandate of millions, Dunya News reported. Minister for Railways Khwaja Saad Rafique said that the government is trying to engage both Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri to have a dialogue.
Speaking to media outside the Parliament House in Islamabad Ahsan Iqbal said that both Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri are provoking their supporters through the march; law will pave its own way. He said that it’s the responsibility of government to protect institutions. The opposition is causing stress throughout the country, said Ahsan Iqbal. A few thousand rigid people can’t steal away the mandate of millions, he added. Ahsan Iqbal said that he has called upon both Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Pakistan Awami Tehreek to withdraw their call for crossing into the red zone area. He said that any attack on parliament will be considered an attack on the constitution and democracy.
Minister of Railways Khwaja Saad Rafique said that so far no success could be achieved in terms of having a dialogue to resolve the political differences.
Red Zone is the nerve centre of the country, said Saad Rafique. Asad Omer, Arif Alvi and Shah Mehmood Qureshi are requested to show some mercy to the nation, he added.
Saad Rafique asked if Shah Mahmood Qureshi thinks that it’s only them who have political workers and supporters. What problems does he want to solve by attacking the parliament? The railway minister said that the current assembly was formed after winning 4.5 million votes. We are constantly trying to convince Qadri and Imran to agree to have a dialogue for the sake of the country.
Responding to this, Ijazul Haq said that the government is ready to go the extra mile for talks and therefore, the opposition should also give up on politics of agitation.
