ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Lawyers of former president Pervez Musharraf have completed cross-examination of prosecution witness Additional Director FIA Khalid Rasool in the treason case today (Tuesday), Dunya News reported.

A special court's three-member bench headed by Justice Faisal Arab heard the case.

Defence lawyer Farogh Naseem questioned investigation officer Khalid Rasool that under what authority the documents were obtained six days after filing of treason complaint. He asked names of the officers who gave verbal orders to submit the documents.

On this, Khalid Rasool replied that Khalid Qureshi and member JIT gave orders. He told court that he is unaware about date of investigation team’s final report, adding that action was taken on the orders of three members of the investigation team.

Khalid Rasool also stated that he doesn't know the exact date when the complaint was lodged.

“Copy of PCO was obtained on December 18 from Cabinet Division but I didn’t know that complaint was filed on December 12,” he said.

Meanwhile, the court declared that DVD and script of Pervez Musharraf’s November 3rd speech will be reviewed on Thursday while statement of member of investigation team Maqsoodul Hassan will be recorded on Wednesday.

Musharraf has been with high treason for suspending the constitution when he declared Emergency rule in 2007.

He assumed power in Pakistan in a bloodless coup when he dismissed the government of then prime minister Nawaz Sharif in 1999.

Musharraf resigned in 2008 as president and went into exile, but returned to Pakistan in March last year to run in the parliamentary elections. However, a court disqualified him from contesting in the general elections held in May 2013.
