Summary Sharif brothers have usurped billions of Pakistani taxpayers' money
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan while addressing a press conference at Lahore today said that we are marching towards Islamabad on 14 August to end the monarchial rule of the ‘Sharif dynasty’ because this is a tussle between monarchy and democracy, adding that we will not retreat from Islamabad until ‘Naya Pakistan’ is formed.
Khan warned the police that if any of the political workers were harmed in any way during the protest then they would not be able to find any place to hide in Punjab, adding that resignation is a very small deed and, my partners would sacrifice their lives for the cause of true democracy.
PTI Chairman while explaining the ‘farcical nature of democracy in Pakistan’ said that unfortunately Pakistan has never witnessed true democracy until now but this time we will end the ‘ reign of the emperor’ on 14 August, and the foundations of dynastic rule in Pakistan will crumble, adding that this Independence Day protest is the nation’s battle against kingship.
Khan while differentiating democracy from kingship said that true democracy requires the accountability of rulers and they were answerable to the general population for their misdeeds but not in kingship, adding that in a true democracy, the ruling elite will not exploit the poor.
We will create a developed Pakistan where merit is upheld by denouncing political nepotism and destroying the kingship of the ‘Sharif dynasty’ whilst letting the world know that in actuality this is an unlawful government, which has come into power by misleading the general population through a fake political mandate.
Khan said while exposing the corrupt nature of the ruling elite (Sharif brothers) belonging to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) who have amassed immense wealth during the past 20 years by shedding light upon the mammoth wealth of the Sharif dynasty in foreign countries, especially in London, which was created by billions of usurped Pakistani taxpayers’ money.
PTI Chairman said that we would march to Islamabad on 14 August with 100,000 motorcycles and create a new Pakistan where the ‘rule of law’ equally applies to everyone, adding that we will hold new general elections with a newly formulated Election Commission to further the cause of true democracy.
Khan further reiterated that he is not a businessperson who will make back-door deals with the government to achieve ulterior motives because he already has everything, and this is the entire nation’s struggle to achieve real democracy.
