ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Pervez Rasheed has said that the government is ready to take Imran Khan’s demands seriously. Pakistan Muslim League (N) leader informed that the government has called the Parliamentary session on 4th of August where the matter can be taken up.

While talking to Dunya News PML-N Senator said that Article 245 has been imposed in order to cope with the possible fallout of Operation Zarb-e-Azb in Islamabad.

Responding to Vice Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Pervez Rasheed said that Shah Mehmood must not forget the past. He reminded Shah Mehmood Qureshi of the imposition of Article 245 in Islamabad during the Lawyers’ Long March in 2009. Pervez rasheed said that Shah Mehmood must not forget that he was part of the Federal Cabinet at that time.

Pervez Rasheed confirmed government’s contacts with Imran Khan saying that PMLN wants the matters to be resolved through talks.

Talking to Dunya News, Senator Pervez Rasheed said that the country cannot stand the politics of destabilization currently. “We are ready to listen seriously to Imran Khan’s demands”, said the PMLN leader. Federal Minister said that politics of agitation is not a good tradition.

Earlier Shah Mehmood Qureshi had rejected the imposition of Article 245 in Islamabad. He had said that the imposition of the article was a proof of Government’s panic.

Government had invoked the Article 245 in the Federal Capital on 24th of July, 2014. Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan had announced in a press conference yesterday (Sunday) that the article had been invoked in order to give a legal cover to the presence of Army in Islamabad. 350 Army personnel are to be deployed in Islamabad under the article. Chaudhry Nisar also said that the Army had been called to assist the civil authority to maintain law and order in the city.
