ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rasheed on Sunday alleged that people are being threatened through installation of guns and weapons on roads of Rawalpindi and Islamabad. He said he along with Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) workers stage sit-in if they’re stopped upon Tahirul Qadri’s arrival, Dunya News reported.
Rasheed alleged that it is Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif who threatens the democracy the most. He urged opposition parties to unite under the flag of ‘grand alliance.’
AML chief said that his party will lead rallies in Lahore, Multan and Karachi along with the ‘historic train march.’
Earlier, Interior Ministry imposed Section 144 at Benazir International Airport and its surrounding area ahead of the arrival of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri, Dunya News reported.
According to police sources, entry into the airport premises carrying banners and placards would not be allowed while those coming towards airport would be arrested.
The sources added that more than 6000 policemen would be deployed to stop the Awami Tehreek workers from going to airport.
