LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab government on Saturday said that Punjab is facing severe terrorism threat, adding that the government cannot endanger the lives of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief and party workers. He said that rallies on Mall Road are banned, adding that politicking is good to an extent that it doesn’t harm the country, Dunya News reported.
Addressing press conference after taking charge as Punjab Law Minister, Mashhood said that Pakistan is facing the biggest terror threat of the history at this point. He said the law enforcement have evaluated the security situations, adding that the authorities will go to any extent to secure the cities and its citizens.
He said citizens including PAT workers will not be left on anyone’s mercy.
He said those who are indulging in the politics of protests and sit-ins want to derail the democracy, adding that the country cannot bear this.
Earlier, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Pervaiz Rasheed said on Saturday that Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri wants to divide the nation at the time when Pakistan has waged military offensive Zarb-e-Azb against terrorists in North Waziristan.
He said that Qadri wants to divert nation’s attention from the ongoing operation.
Rasheed claimed that Qadri is hatchling a conspiracy against democracy and North Waziristan operation.
He claimed that Qadri wants to pave way for terrorists, adding that Tahirul Qadri will fail like he did the last time.
Rasheed further added that Qadri remained silent over the looting of Punjab Bank, alleging that those who looted Punjab Bank and NICL were Qadri’s allies.
