Karachi attack: Funeral prayers of martyred Rangers, ASF officials offered

Sindh CM has announced monetary compensation for the victims of the Karachi airport attack.

KARACHI (Dunya News) - Funeral prayers of martyred ASF and Rangers officials of Karachi airport attack was offered here on Monday.

The funeral prayers of Ranges personnel Dil Murad was offered at Rangers Headquarters.

Director General (DG) Rangers Major General Rizwan Akhtar and a large number of Rangers officials were present on this occasion.

Later, the dead body of the martyred official was sent to his ancestral area in Faisalabad.

Meanwhile, the funeral prayers of 11 martyred Airport Security Force (ASF) officials was of offered at ASF Headquarters. Director General (DG) ASF Azam Tiwana and a large number of ASF officials attended the funeral prayers of the martyred.

On the other hand, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah announced monetary compensation for the victims of Karachi airport attack.

He has announced two million rupees each for martyred Rangers personnel and one million rupees each for the martyrs of police and Airport Security Force. Each injured will get Rs 100,000.

Meanwhile, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Civil Aviation Shujaat Azim has sent his recommendations to the PM for the compensation of the martyred families.

Earlier, Jinnah International Airport in Karachi had been reopened at for passengers after security personnel completed their search operation and declared the area safe.

The attack began just before midnight when 10 gunmen wearing military uniforms shot their way into the airport s old terminal used mainly for charter and executive flights.

At least 20 people including law enforcement personnel and airport workers were killed in the attack.

The terrorists equipped with suicide vests, hand grenades, RPGs were also killed during 5-hour long clash with the security forces. Gun battles raged through the night until security forces regained control of the airport at dawn.
