EC publishes report of assets owned by MNAs

Election Commission (EC) published report of the assets belonging to the Members of National Assembly. According to the report majority of the ministers and Members of National Assembly are not well off.Prime Minister (PM) Yousaf Raza Gilani owns a house worth Rs 6.3 million and has Rs 12.1 million of cash. PM also have 200 tolas of gold, however PM has no business and does not own personal car. Opposition leader Chaudhry Nisar owns five plots, nine flats, agricultural land in Chakri and a farmhouse in Rawalpindi. Speaker National Assembly Dr. Fahmida Mirza owns assets worth Rs 50 million. Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi owns assets worth Rs 310 million. PML-N leader Mukhdoom Javed Hashmi owns assets including agricultural land worth Rs 50 million, households worth Rs 10 million and 100 tolas of gold but he has also reported himself paying loans to Zarai Taraqiati Bank. President Zardaris sister Faryal Talpur reported ownership of assets worth Rs 78.9 million. PPP Secretary Information Fauzia Wahab owns 50 tolas of gold. Farahnaz Ispahani owns a flat in America and has bank accounts outside Pakistan. The members have not issued details about their personal properties.
