Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani on Tuesday congratulated PML-N leader Mian Nawaz Sharif on telephone, on the decision of the Lahore High Court, rejecting an application to disqualify his candidature to contest elections. The Prime Minister informed Mian Nawaz Sharif that the crisis emerging out of the appointment of judges issue would soon be resolved amicably. The government, he said is committed to honouring the Charter of Democracy. The Leaders of both parties, the prime minister said had made great sacrifices and they would not let these go waste. The prime minister assured Nawaz Sharif that both major parties, the PPP and PML (N) will strive together to repeal the amendments made in the constitution by various dictatorial regimes. The government, the prime minister said holds the judiciary in high esteem and will accept the decisions of the courts in letter and spirit.
