Coalition with MQM impossible if they don't retract support for martial law, breaking Sindh: Bilawal
PPP have formed and dissolved alliance with MQM many times before as well.
KARACHI (Web Desk) - Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Thursday said the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) was ‘keen to join’ the Sindh government.
Responding to a question on Twitter, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said if the MQM do not retract support for martial law and breaking Sindh, it will be almost impossible for his party to work with them.
It may be mentioned here that MQM chief Altaf Hussain has appealed more than once in the recent past to the army top brass to take notice of what he called “state oppression” against workers of his party and innocent people in Karachi.
Amid speculation and media reports, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement on Wednesday confirmed its contact with the Pakistan Peoples Party for forging a coalition in Sindh.
But the mystery is that PPP currently enjoys simple majority in the Sindh Assembly and neither the government at the centre, nor in Sindh is in any dire need of support from another party.
