Pakistan not sending troops to any country: PM Nawaz
Pakistan believes in peaceful coexistence with the neighboring countries, PM Nawaz said.
MIANWALI (Web Desk) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday said that none of the country has requested Pakistan to send its forces nor Pakistan will send its forces to any other country, Dunya News reported.
Addressing a ceremony in Mianwali today, the Prime Minister said Pakistan has no aggressive designs but also could not compromise on its defense and sovereignty.
The remarks came after the rumors that dignitaries from Saudi Arabia and Bahrain during their recent visit to Pakistan have requested for troops for possible assistance to counter rebels in Syria.
PM Nawaz said Pakistan is a peace loving country and believes in peaceful coexistence with the neighboring countries. However, he said Pakistan will never withdraw from its sovereignty and dignity at any cost.
Nawaz Sharif said only a stable and strong Pakistan could guarantee peace and stability in the region.
Earlier today, the he told media that visit of King of Bahrain is in the interest of Pakistan. He said the recent visit of Saudi Crown Prince also reflects that Pakistan foreign policy is moving in the right direction.
He hoped these visits will go a long way in further strengthening Pakistan s ties with Muslim countries.
