ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif still prefers to bring peace to the country through dialogue with Taliban to avoid further bloodshed.

In an interview‚ he however‚ said those who do not understand the language of peace and resort to cutting throats of the innocent people will be dealt with iron hand.

The minister said the government will make a formal announcement if it decides to launch any military operation in North Waziristan.

He said in such a situation all appropriate measures will be taken to take care of the local population like the Swat operation.

To a question‚ Pervaiz Rashid welcomed the PTI Chief Imran Khan s recent statement about supporting a targeted military operation against those Taliban groups who refuse to renounce violence and attack the security forces.

To another question‚ the minister said Jamaat-e-Islami is a legal political party and a signatory to the 1973 constitution and there is no question of imposing any ban on it.
