Summary Says the constitution is meant to be observed and those, who violated it in the past have suffered.

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has said the rule of law is the only solution to resolve the problems being faced by the country.

Talking to a delegation of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA), headed by it’s President, Kamran Murtaza, Nawaz Sharif said the government is whole-heartedly committed to upholding the rule of law and is fully committed to the cause of independent judiciary.

“Pakistan can only develop if equal rights are provided to its citizens without any difference of cast, creed and religion”, the PM said.

Nawaz said the lawyers’ community had struggled for a noble cause, however stressed that it was the high time to work for the marginalized and poor segments of the society for ensuring justice.

The Prime Minister appreciated the sacrifices rendered by lawyers in their struggle for independent judiciary, which they started in 2007.

The SCBA reiterated their commitment and resolve for upholding the rule-of law. The delegation apprised the Prime Minister regarding problems faced by the lawyers’ community.

Minister Information Senator Pervaiz Rashid, Special Assistant to Prime Minister Khawaja Zaheer Ahmad, Political Secretary to PM Dr. Asif Kirmani and Secretary Law Division Zafarullah Khan were also present on the occasion.
