ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - Nawaz Sharif has said that the government will take every step to bring peace and stability in the country.

While chairing a PML-N parliamentary party here on Monday, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said the present government will save the future of the nation. He said officers and soldiers of Armed Forces, laying down their lives, are national heroes and their blood will not go in vain.

Nawaz Sharif said the situation in Karachi has improved and a decrease of 40 percent has been observed in heinous crimes. He said this success has been achieved through concerted efforts of government and law enforcement agencies.

The Prime Minister maintained that the country is facing two major problems‚ fragile economy and terrorism. He stressed that a corruption-free society and transparent system is key to progress and prosperity.

Interior Minister Ch Nisar Ali Khan briefed the meeting on security policies of the government.

Nisar said the National Internal Security Policy (NISP) has been devised and would be implemented after Cabinet’s approval.

The minister said that he does not trust the Taliban anymore as they were asking for talks and killing innocent people at the same time.

Nisar informed the meeting that he had sent former Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) chief Hakimullah Mehsud a document containing the names of the seven member negotiation team and he (Mehsud) had cancelled two names.
