Summary PPP workers hurled stones on PTI activists that resulted into a clash near Bilawal House in Karachi.

KARACHI (Dunya News) - A brawl between activists of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI)was reported near the Bilawal House in Boat Basin area of Clifton.

According to details, a rally of PPP activists attacked PTI following the peaceful protest against the security wall surrounding Bilawal House.

PPP workers hurled stones on PTI demonstrators which resulted into a clash between the two parties. 

Heavy contingents of police were deployed around the Bilawal House. All roads leading to Bilawal House were blocked by police.

Meanwhile, it was also reported that police baton charged PTI leader Arif Alvi and other party workers.

PPP leader Abdul Qadir Patel accused PTI’s leader Arif Alvi for the unpleasant clash between the two parties. He said the rally was staged to turn attention from LG polls.

Commenting on the situation, PTI senior leader Arif Alvi said it was a scheduled peaceful rally, adding that his party never wanted to clash with any party. Arif Alvi said party workers were injured by PPP, saying that the police was involved in the incident and did nothing to stop PPP.

PTI leader said one track of Bilawal House road was opened due to PTI’s protests, hoping that the other half will be opened soon. He said the closure was in violation of high court orders.

Meanwhile, police have also arrested few people following the clash.

The PTI supporters had been protesting against the continuous closure of the road leading to Bilawal House despite high court orders against the blockade.
