Lahore High Court prevented the Competitive Commission of Pakistan from taking action against the sugar millers in sugar mills scam today.Four sugar mills have filed an application in the LHC arguing that the Competitive Commission has no right to issue notices to the sugar mills, as the ordinance regarding its establishment was promulgated in Musharrafs regime. The ordinance needed to be approved by the parliament within 30 days period; however, as the parliament has not approved the said ordinance, thereby the Commission has no standing at all.Therefore the Court stayed action against the sugar mills after accepting the application and adjourned the hearing till February 11.
