National Assembly Wednesday unanimously condemned publishing of blasphemous caricatures of the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) by a Denmark newspaper and demanded an international law to penalize those involved in this heinous act. This House strongly condemns the publishing of blasphemous caricatures of the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) and demands of Norway and Denmark governments to take notice of this act for promoting inter-faith harmony among world religions, the resolution said, read out by member Sahibzada Haji Fazl Karim. These caricatures have hurt the feelings of Muslims across the world and it is an abortive attempt to infuriate the feelings of the Muslims, Fazl Karim said reading out the resolution. This House also strongly demands from the United Nations to frame laws to punish those who are involved in blasphemous acts against Hazrat Adam, Hazrat Musa, Jesus and the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) and other prophets, he added. Earlier, on a motion by Minister for Information and Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira rules were suspended for bringing the resolution to the House.After the resolution was read out by Sahibzada Haji Fazl Karim, Speaker National Assembly Dr Fehmida Mirza put the resolution to the House that was unanimously adopted.
