Summary Shamoona secured 46, 441 votes while independent candidate Khawaja Daood received 39, 371 votes.
DERA GHAZI KHAN (Dunya News) - According to unofficial and unconfirmed results, PML-N candidate Sahmoona Anbreen Qaisrani has been declared successful in by-election in PP-240 Taunsa Sharif.
Supporters of the winning candidate thronged her residence and celebrated the victory by dancing at drum beats.
Rival candidate Khawaja Daood Sulemani blamed PML-N for rigging the polls and refused to accept the results.
He appealed to the Election Commission of Pakistan to take notice of the alleged rigging during the polling.
It is worth mentioning here that Shammona Anbreen is wife of former MPA, Mir Badshah Qaisrani.
Badshah joined JUI-F and won the seat in general elections, but was later disqualified in a fake degree case.
Earlier, Mir Badshah had been with the PML-N as an MPA most of his political career. After developing differences with the party high-ups, he joined the JUI-F.
After the JUI-F lost its lone seat in Punjab, the PML-N gave a ticket to Mir Badshah’s wife, Shamoona Ambreen Qaisrani.
