Quetta: Operation to rescue Dr Manaf, 2 kidnappers killed

On September 17, four men took away Dr Tareen in their car on gunpoint.

QUETTA (Dunya News) – Police and Anti-Terrorism Force conducted joint operation in Gulistan-e-Karez area today (Saturday) to rescue Dr. Abdul Manaf Tareen.

As per details, two alleged kidnappers Sabir Khan and Waris were killed in clash with the security personnel while three others including Muhammad Afzal, Azam Khan and Mashkay Khan were arrested.

During clash, ATF personnel Salahuddin was killed and Muhammad Ramzan also got injured.

However, security personnel have failed to recover the abducted doctor. 

Dr Abdul Manaf Tareen, a prominent heart specialist of Balochistan, was kidnapped in Pishin late on September 17.

Dr. Tareen had established the private Cardiac and General Hospital after retirement from the government service a couple of years back.

He had served as the Head of the Cardiology in the BMC and its affiliated teaching hospitals in the metropolis.
