LAHORE (Dunya News) Lahore High Court has ordered the federal government to submit its justification regarding appointment of judges in high courts till October 22.
The Lahore High Court resumed hearing of the case and the petitioner’s lawyer A K Dogar contended that the merit must be prioritized while appointing news judges in high courts.
He maintained that information regarding appointment of new judges should be published in daily newspapers and final selection should be decided after taking interviews of the candidates without showing any leniency to them.
The court appointed Advocate Shahzad Showkat as its coordinator while the counsel on the part of the federal government requested the court to award him some time so that he may be able to submit his reply in the court in this regard.
