(Web Desk) - A meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Privatization chaired by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar in Islamabad has decided to immediately initiate the privatization process of thirty-one public sector entities.
Minister of Water and Power Khawja Asif, Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal, Minister of State for Privatisation Khurram Dastagir, federal secretaries, the governor of the State Bank of Pakistan and chairmen of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan and the Board of Investment attended the meeting.
The meeting also decided to offer and transfer the twenty-six percent shares of these entities.
It directed the Privatization Commission to ensure protection of interests of employees at all costs.
