LAHORE (Dunya News) – Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has taken the notice of the rape of a five-year-old girl in
Lahore. The CJP has also sought a report from the IGP Punjab of the incident.
According to media reports, the girl was abducted and sexually assaulted and was dumped outside the Ganga Ram Hospital in a semi-conscious state.
The girl was transferred to the Services Hospital where she remained in critical condition for several hours.
Police said that they are identifying the criminal in the case via CCTV video from the Ganga Ram Hospital.
Initial investigations reveal that he was on carrying the child on foot and is believed to be 18 years old.
Earlier, Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif also took the notice of the incident and ordered police to arrest the accused.
