ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Islamabad gunman Sikandar’s wife Kanwal was sent on an additional 14-day judicial remand..

An anti-terrorism court (ATC) heard the Islamabad shooting incident case today (Wednesday).

The court extended the remand of suspect Sikandar s wife as the police have failed to complete thee inquiry, stating that the gunman’s wife keeps changing her statements.

On the other hand, Kanwal has also filed a bail plea in the anti-terrorism court. The court will hear the bail petition on Friday.

The court has also ordered to hand over children of the accused to their grandfather.

STANDOFF 

On August 15, Sikandar opened fire in the heavily policed heart of Islamabad after slipping past the capital s many checkpoints. He was later shot and seriously wounded by police during a 5-hour long dramatic standoff.

Sikandar was armed with a pair of assault rifles that he fired periodically and was accompanied by his wife and two children.

He parked his car in the middle of one of Islamabad’s main roads leading to the parliament as police tried to figure out what to do.

Sikandar was shot after an altercation with a negotiator at the end of the nearly six-hour stand-off. According to hospital sources, his condition is stable now.
