Summary Says the world ‘shameful’ had been used for returning officers not for whole of the court.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) PTI chairman Imran Khan has submitted his reply in the Supreme Court regarding contempt of the court case filed against him for using ‘derogatory’ words against judiciary.
The reply comprising 21 pages was submitted in the apex court by Imran Khan’s counsel Hamid Khan who took stance that his client had criticized performance of the Election Commission and Returning Officers and passing comments against returning officer’s progress doesn’t fall in the limit of contempt of court.
He made it clear that he had not used the world ‘shameful’ for the entire judiciary but only for returning officer, adding that he had never made an attempt to underestimate or scandalize any judge.
He requested the court to take back the contempt notice issued on July 26.
The Supreme Court would conduct hearing of the same case tomorrow on August 28.
