Summary It was unconstitutional for a party chief to summon a meeting of govt officials, Zahid Khan said.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The Awami National Party (ANP) has decided to submit an adjournment motion in the Senate against Imran Khan, chairmen of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for chairing a meeting of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa officials.

In a statement, ANP spokesperson Zahid Khan said that the adjournment motion would be submitted against Imran Khan for calling a meeting of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) provincial secretaries on Friday. Imran Khan is the member of National Assembly not the chief executive of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

“It was unconstitutional for a party chief to summon such a meeting. PTI Chairman was running the province like a cricket team,” he said.

“If Imran Khan wanted to manage the affairs of the province, he should have contested the elections from a provincial assembly seat and opted to become the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,” said Zahid, adding that PTI chairman was using the K-P Assembly like a “rubber stamp”.

During general elections, Imran Khan s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) finished third place in the polls won by Nawaz Sharif s Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N), but formed a government in the northwestern province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
