Summary Intelligence agencies have warned that federal capital can be the next target of terrorists.
ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - Following a deadly attack on Dera Ismail Khan main prison leaving six police personnel dead and dozens terrorists escaped, intelligence agencies warned that federal capital of terrorism-hit country could be the next target of terrorists.
According to reports the security agencies said that Islamabad’s international airport, farm house of former president Pervez Musharraf and Adiala Jail in the adjoining city of Rawalpindi could be the targets of terrorists.
Security arrangements have been tightened in order to avert any act of terrorism at Benazir Bhutto International Airport in Islamabad, after intelligence report.
Police patrolling has been increased within the premises of the airport while special commandoes has also been deployed for rapid action in case of any mishap.
Intelligence report feared Dera Ismail Khan and Bannu like attacks on Adiala Jail, one of largest prison of the country and house of dangerous inmates.
According to report, terrorists have been freely using mobile phone in coalesce with jail staff who is facilitating criminals in return to alleged financial benefits.
“A warden’s mobile has been detected using 250 SIMS in the investigation”, the report said.
The report has recommended re-directing mobile phone signal towers so that signals could not spread over jail. At least Rs. 5 million is required to install mobile phone jammer, it further said.
The provincial government of Punjab has deputed elite commandos on all jails of the province following threats of attack from terrorists.
