Summary Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will hold a meeting to consult allied parties over the issue.
PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on Monday postponed its protest against prolonged power outages.
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) led provincial government was scheduled to hold protest demonstrations across the province today.
The federal government had earlier instructed no load-shedding take place during Sehri, Iftar and Taraweeh timings in Ramazan. However, power outages still remain the norm in the capital city (Peshawar) and the rest of the province.
Yesterday, PTI lawmakers said that the province was facing unjust loadshedding despite being the largest power producer and announced that protest demonstrations would be held from Monday if the power issue was not resolved.
However, in a statement issued here on Monday, spokesman for the provincial government said CM KPK Pervez Khattak would consult allied parties in order to forge consensus and wage series of protests against ‘unjustified and unannounced’ load shedding in the province. -
A meeting in this regard will take place at CM Secretariat.
