LAHORE (Online): Supreme Court (SC) has been moved for staying the implementation of death penalty in respect of 400 prisoners.
Media reports said a petition has been filed in SC Lahore registry in this connection.
The petitioner has taken the plea in the petition that interior ministry has written a letter to the president for implementation of death sentence orders in respect of 400 prisoners who have completed their punishment term.
Writing a letter to the president for implementation of death penalty in respect of 400 prisoners who have completed their sentence term is illegal and unconstitutional and it falls in the ambit of commission of contempt of court, he pleaded.
