ISLAMABAD (Web desk) - Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Nawaz Sharif will travel to China in the first week of July, a Foreign Ministry official said on Thursday.
The Chinese premier, Li Keqiang, visited Pakistan last month and invited Sharif to visit his country. The Chinese Prime Minister had said energy was one of the major topics debated during his visit to Pakistan.
A delegation of Pakistani officials, including Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal, is already on a visit to China.
Sharif will discuss with the Chinese leadership plans for reinforcing bilateral strategic partnership, enhancing economic cooperation and development of Pakistan-China trade and economic corridor during his visit.
PM Nawaz is also likely to seek Chinese assistance in overcoming the energy crisis in Pakistan.
