Guddu Thermal plant fire disrupts 110MW power generation

The fire was extinguished after four hours of struggle.
KASHMORE (Dunya News) – Electricity generation was affected after fire erupted in a breaker of Guddu Thermal Power Plant’s Unit-6 on Sunday night.
Resultantly, power supply of at least seven districts including Moro, Dadu, Mirpur, Larkana, Jaffarabad and Jhat Phat areas was disrupted.
According to officials, owing to the exceeding load, fire suddenly broke out at Unit-6 of Guddu Thermal Power Plant at around 1.00am last night and its four linked units tripped.
Power supply of seven districts of Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan has been suspended temporarily after tripping of four units of the plant.
