PTI's Pervez Khattak takes oath as KPK Chief Minister
KPK Governor Engineer Shaukatullah Khan administered the oath to newly elected CM.
PESHAWAR (Dunya News) - The new Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak took oath of his office in Peshawar on Friday evening.
Sirajul Haq and Sikandar Sherpao also took oath of their offices as senior provincial ministers.
Earlier‚ Pervez Khattak of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf was elected new Chief Minister of the province.
Parvez Khattak who was a joint candidate of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and its allied parties bagged 84 votes. Lutfur Rehman of JUI-F secured 37 votes.
Wajihuz Zaman of PML-N withdrew his candidature in favour of JUI-F candidate just before the division of the house.
Speaking in the House PML-N Parliamentary leader Sardar Mehtab Abbasi congratulated Pervez Khattak on his election as new Chief Minister of the province and said this will strengthen democracy.
He said PML-N fully respected the mandate of the majority party and provided it an opportunity to form new government in the province.
