The list of 248 NRO beneficiaries has been submitted in the Supreme Court. Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary remarked that dropping cases against accused didnt mean complete pardon. CJ remarked that NRO was manipulated to benefit accused and beneficiaries were given a clear-chit. The accused were declared innocent so that they could contest elections but dropping cases didnt mean they were pardoned completely, CJ observed. The SC court can monitor other courts as well in addition to NAB courts, he added. Justice Khalil-ur-Rehman Ramday remarked that judges were guardians of peoples rights. If somebodys son is a murderer, rights of his relatives cannot be abolished, Ramday maintained. Lawyer of Dr. Mubasher, Salman Raja giving arguments said that administration was given judicial authority under NRO which was a violation of the SC decision. Attorney General presented the parliamentary record on NRO in the court.AG Sindh Yousaf Laghari told court that 8,000 cases were dropped in Sindh out of which 3,000 were murder cases. The court also accepted rejected petition of Tariq Asad on NRO for the hearing.
