CHANDI GARH (Dunya News) - Sanaullah had received serious head injuries after being brutally attacked by fellow prisoner in Jammu Jail in an apparent revenge attack.

Earlier this month, Indian spy Sarabjit Singh was fatally attacked by co-inmates at Lahore’s Kot Lakhpat jail.

Sanaulllah was rushed to Jamu Medical College Hospital in a critical condition and later shifted to Chandigarh.

Pakistan’s Foreign Office says Indian authorities have not officially confirmed the death of Sanaullah.

The Foreign Office Friday lodged a protest with the Indian government against torturing of Pakistani prisoner by his inmate in Jamu Jail.

The FO spokesman Aziz Ahmad Chaudhry had stated that the incident could be a reaction to Indian spy Sarabjit Singh’s death, but he was a terrorist who had broken the law and martyred many innocent citizens of Pakistan.

The Pakistani authorities on Saturday morning visited Chandigarh Hospital and enquired about the health of Sanaullah.

Caretaker PM Mir Hazar Khan Khoso had contacted Indian PM Manmohan Singh and demanded probe into the incident.

Expressing his concerns, PM Khoso also demanded the Indian PM to ensure protection of other Pakistani prisoners in Pakistan.

Relatives of Sanaullah staged a protest demonstration in Sialkot, raising slogans against Indian barbarism. Residents of the area also participated in the demonstration in a large number.
