Under the influence of the current weather system‚ widespread snowfall‚ heavy at times‚ is expected over the hills of Malakand‚ Hazara‚ Murree‚ Galiyat‚ Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir on Monday and Tuesday while hailing is also expected at isolated places in the plains of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab including Islamabad during the period.
According to a spokesman of PMD‚ heavy snowfall ranging three to four feet may occur over the hills higher than 7,000 feet and two to three feet snowfall over the hills from 5,000 to 7,000 during the period.
The heavy snowfall may cause the closure of link roads and the possibility of landslides.
Meanwhile‚ snow falling has started in Ziarat and Sanjavi.
