Fake Rs 1,000 notes worth millions circulating in Lahore
It has been revealed some currency notes drawn from banks were found fake.
LAHORE: Rs 1,000 fake currency notes are circulating in the markets of the provincial capital.
According to a Dunya News report the fake currency notes were printed in Khyber-Pakhtunkhawa and were circulated in Punjab, particularly in Lahore.
Even some banks could not make distinction between the fake and original currency notes, and these notes passed through ATM machines and circulated in markets.
People from all walks of life have expressed grave concern over circulation of fake currency notes in the market. Some say even the currency notes drawn from banks were fake ones.
The citizens have demanded that the government and State Bank of Pakistan should take immediate notice of this type of forgery.
