Waziristan operation not against Mehsud tribes: Kayani

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani Monday made it clear that the army offensive in restive tribal region South Waziristan have been launched against terrorist elements of the area not the peaceful and patriot people of Mehsud tribes.The pamphlets dropped in Pashto and Urdu language in South Waziristan carrying message from the Army Chief stated, Pak Armys operations purpose is not to target high-spirited and patriot people of Mehsud tribes but to free the area from terrorists occupation. General Kayani also stated that the purpose of the operation was to eliminate Uzbek, foreigner and local terrorists and he believed that Mehsud tribes would stand beside Pak Army.
