The US Central Command Chief General David Petraeus and Senator John Kerry called on Pakistan's top brass in Islamabad on Monday, reported Dunya News. Army Chief General Ashfaq Pervaiz Kayani told US officials that Pakistan Army didnt need any foreign assistance for Waziristan Operation and it would itself complete it. General Petraeus and Army Chief Kayani discussed Waziristan Operation in their meeting. Army Chief said that operation was supported by political and military leadership and the people collectively. He told that the area would soon be cleared of the militants. The meeting also discussed NATOs check posts and intelligence sharing on the Pak-Afghan border. General Petraeus asserted that US was giving full support to Pakistan in war against terrorism. He also called on Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani with his delegation. The PM demanded that international community should give financial assistance for conduction restoration works in the affected areas. General Petraeus lauded Pakistans sacrifices in the war against terrorism. Senator John Kerry also called on the PM, President Asif Ali Zardari and Army Chief and discussed Kerry-Lugar Bill. Pakistans apprehensions on the bill have been removed, Kerry maintained. Kerry also held meeting with PML-N head Mian Nawaz Sharif. Ishaq Dar and Chaudhary Nisar were also present in the meeting. Sharif conveyed Pakistani peoples apprehensions on the bill. Kerry assured that Pakistans sovereignty wouldnt be affected by the bill.
