The crackdown of police against terrorists continues after the GHQ attack while eight terrorists and 17 suspects have been arrested so far, reported Dunya News. Sources informed that intelligence agencies arrested Omer Muavia, an important member of the group involved in GHQ attack, from Baghdad-al-Jadeed Road Bahawalpur. Sources revealed that Muavia was tasked to carry out a suicide attack in the next two days. The accused is said to be associated with Tehreek-e-Taliban Punjab. He was involved in Manawan Police Training attack too. Nine suspects from Rawalpindi, Islamabad and eight from Quetta express have been arrested who are believed to be involved in GHQ attack. Foiling the terrorist plot, Peshawar Police arrested four terrorists from Kohat Road. Police recovered mortar shells, rocket launchers and bombs after raiding the house of a man who gave refuge to the terrorists. DIG Liaqut Ali Khan said the rest of the terrorists accomplices would be arrested soon. In Sargodha, police seized two explosive packed vehicles and arrested two alleged terrorists near Head Faqiraan at a check post. Sources revealed these persons were coming to Sargodha from Mandi Bahauddin. They belong to Peshawar and Kohat. On the other hand, CID Police arrested Taliban commander from Korangi area of Karachi. Police told that the accused Ahmad Jan had been running training camp in Matta and was wanted in some 20 cases. Police shifted the accused to an unknown location and seized weapons from his possession.
