The opposition leader in National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan questioned Monday, what part of country could be considered as safe if GHQ was not secure. He urged to tell the House how the terrorists reached GHQ.Participating in the debate on GHQ attack in National Assembly session, Chaudhry Nisar lauded the SSG commandos who sacrificed their lives to fail the terrorist attack. Pakistan is surviving today because of these people. He opined that the defence minister should have been present in the session after such a terrible incident. Federal Minister for Information and Broadcast Qamar Zaman Kaira said Pak Armys 2000 soldiers had been martyred in the war on terror since 9/11. He said that the government was forced to setup check posts in the cities due to the present situation. Federal Minister for Water and Power Raja Pervez Ashraf told the House that approximately 200 megawatts of electricity had been saved due to Daylight Saving Time, adding that electricity worth Rs 6 billion had been stolen in two years.On the other hand, debate on Kerry-Lugar Bill continued in the Senate. The opposition members criticized the conditional US aid whereas the ruling members explained governments view. The session has been adjourned till 10 am on Tuesday.
