An operation against militants in Tehsil Mamond of Bajaur Agency has been started as 15 militants killed and 6 hideouts were destroyed when fighter jets bombed in the area. A bomb blast injured a commuter in Khar, Dunya News reported Monday.According to sources, fighter jets targeted hideouts of the militants in several areas of Tehsil Mamond including Sewei, Dama Dola and Shankot. Curfew has been imposed in Mamond after sealing the entry and exit routes. Security forces had given a deadline of October 5 to the tribal notables to hand over criminals and militants. Large scale displacement continued in the area, sources told.A commuter injured in a blast at Baccha Chowk has been shifted to hospital. On the other hand, 85 persons were arrested including 20 suspected militants during a search operation in Charsadda.
