Summary The defense ministry submitted the account details of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) in court

A three-judge bench of the Supreme court heard the petition filed by Asghar Ali Khan who had accused the ISI of financing politicians in the 1990 elections by dishing out Rs140 million to create the Islami Jamhoori Ittehad (IJI) and prevent Benazir Bhutto’s PPP from winning the polls. The petition was based on an affidavit of Durrani.During the course of proceeding, the defence ministry submitted the account details of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).The attorney general said that the account details were confidential and cannot be made public. During yesterdays hearing, the bench remarked General Beg and Durrani acted individually when handed out money to politicians.
