Summary Govt says SC cannot dictate the contents of the letter, must review Sep18 verdict.
In the petition the federal government has challenged the Supreme Court verdict of September 18.The Supreme Court of Pakistan has admitted the governments petition. The five-member SC bench had suggested four phases regarding the writing of a letter to the Swiss authorities.Deputy Attorney General Dil Muhammad Alizai on behalf of the government took the stance in the review petition that the 17-member bench of the Supreme Court did not write in the paragraph No 178 of the ruling of NRO implementation case that the apex court will approve the draft of the letter.The petition further says that the five-member bench has violated the decision of 17-member bench by suggesting four phases of writing the letter.The petition further said that the bench formed to view the implementation of the decision cannot issue any order against the essence of the decision.According to the review petition, the federal government wants that the matter of the letter should be resolved in way that upholds judiciary’s respect as well as removes government’s reservations.The federal government has pleaded the apex court to review the ruling of September 18 and requested to withdraw the suggested four points for letter writing.
