Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani Friday said the new reform package for Balochistan would soon be presented to a joint sitting of Parliament for approval, after taking all political leaders into confidence. He said the reform package would remove the sense of deprivation and usher in an era of progress and prosperity in the area. Talking to a delegation of Balochistan Cabinet headed by Chief Minister Nawab Aslam Raeesani at PM House Islamabad, Gilani reaffirmed his governments sincere commitment towards fast track development of Balochistan. He said the government would bring the resource-rich province at par with other developed areas of the country through introduction of the new package prepared by the Parliamentary Committee on Balochistan. He said a three-pronged strategy has been devised to permanently address the grievances of the people of Balochistan by meeting their longstanding demands. He hoped the constitutional, administrative and financial measures included in the package would meet expectations of the people. The Prime Minister said that under the new reform package the people of Balochistan would control their own resources and will be masters of their own destiny. The delegation appreciated Prime Ministers endeavors towards addressing their grievances and hoped these efforts would bear fruit in making Balochistan a prosperous province. Minister for IT Begum Perveen Magsi and Minister for IPC Dr. Ruqayya Saeed Hashmi also met PM Gilani and apprised him of their departments performance. Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani also met Amir JUI (F) Maulana Fazl ur Rehman and discussed overall political situation in the country. Maulana Fazlur Rehman who called on the Prime Minister, apprised him of the matters relating to status of developmental projects in his constituency. The meeting expressed satisfaction over the working of coalition government and resolved to continue cooperation in future.
