Summary Federal ministers and government allies termed the verdict of Supreme Court as positive.
Addressing the media outside Supreme Court, Federal Ministers said that the government will always comply with the orders of courts.Minister for Information and Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira said the government has given a way forward in the NRO implementation case to the satisfaction of court orders.He said we are moving in the right direction and we have full confidence in courts, adding that the democratic government does not want any confrontation with the institutions and those desiring for such a situation have faced disappointment.Kaira said that Prime Minister, during the proceeding, informed the court that serious efforts are being made for the implementation of court orders.Responding to a question‚ the Information Minister said the stance of the former Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani was the right one and the present decision in the case has been taken keeping in view the current situation. He said we should not struck up in the past and instead look towards the future.Interior minister Rehman Malik said that the government will prepare the letter draft till September 25, saying that the government will always comply with court orders.PPP leader Mehreen Anwar Raja said that the judiciary and the government have taken a very positive decision in the best of national interests.Federal minister Firdous Ashiq Awan termed todays judgment as historic.PML-Q chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain hoped that Supreme Court will find a way that will save both institutions from conflict.MQM leader Farooq Sattar said that today’s verdict has reduced the pressure that was built on government, adding that the leaders can now focus on welfare of the masses.
