Summary Governor Punjab Latif Khosa has said that the politics for PPP is like a divine obligation.

However, it is unfortunate that its opponents are confined to an attitude to safeguard their personal petty interests instead of fighting for the rights of the people. This he said while speaking to the cheques distribution ceremony of the Waseela-e-Haq Scheme of BISP here in Governor House. During the ceremony, 282 women heads of deserving families from Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad and Sahiwal divisions were awarded cheques of Rs. 1.5 Lac each under the Waseela-e-Haq Scheme. He said that the present democratic government is engaged in fighting terrorism with the help of Pakistan Army on one hand and combating with poverty on the other through the platform of Benazir Income Support Program (BISP).Sardar Latif Khosa said that PPP is not afraid of conspiracies against it whereas the elections in the country would be held on due time. He urged all the political forces in the country to come forward and promote the politics of national reconciliation. Governor Punjab said that the slogan Roti, Kapra aur Makan is in fact a programme of getting the people rid of financial exploitation. Governor Punjab on the occasion lauded the efforts of Farzana Raja for winning international acknowledgment for the transparent and effective mechanisms adopted by BISP. He said that the honor of Hilal-e-Imtiaz to Farzana Raja from the President of Pakistan speaks volume about the performance which she has exhibited as Chairperson BISP. Farzana Raja in her speech said that BISP has become a leading programme only in a short span of 4 years among the 44 countries where similar kind of interventions in the social sector have been introduced. Minister of State for the Ministry of Information Syed Samsam Bukhari also spoke on the occasion and said that BISP is successfully advancing the mission of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto. He said that BISP is an unprecedented initiative in the social sector of the world.
